Day 30 - Trip 1

Transaction 1:
Newspaper - $2 (They don't bundle the double paper on holiday weekends, and I only needed one set of the P&G coupons anyway)
Used $1.49 ECBs, paid 51 cents

Transaction 2:
2 Covergirl Wetslicks - $5.99 each
1 travel pack of baby wipes - 99 cents (this may be my new 99 cent filler instead of 2 packs of tissues - not sure yet)
Used BOGO Covergirl, $2/$10 (the only other one I had, SIGH), $5 ECBs. Paid 42 cents (all tax). Got back $5.99 ECBs.

Day 29 - Trip 1

It's good to be back!

First transaction:
2 Stayfree pads - $9
1 Kotex Lightdays - $1.49
1 Suave bodywash - $2.79

Used 75 cents off Kotex (the printable wouldn't print for me, but it was a difference of 25 cents so that's OK), BOGO Stayfree, $2/$10*, $5 ECBs. Paid $1.47 (44 cents tax). Got back $5, $1.49.

Second transaction:
2 Stayfree pads - $9
1 travel sized CVS brand cough drops - 50 cents

Used BOGO Stayfree, $5 ECBs. Paid 32 cents tax, got back $5 ECBs.

*The $2/$10 was the actual newspaper coupon from Richmond, VA. I do not feel comfortable using the printable versions of the X/XX coupons from various newspapers around the country, but a friend of mine scored me 2 copies of the Richmond paper. I could've used the other $2/$10 on the second transaction (spending 50 cents more) but then I would've had to do more math and honestly, I don't have the brain cells these days. I am instead going to use it on Sunday - I have a plan!

Busy...

I've been on vacation and haven't really had time for deals or updating - but I will be back! All I've done since my last post was this, a week ago:

Bought one bottle of mouth rinse, 1 tube of tooth pain gel, 1 small tube of sunscreen (all CVS brand)
Used (expired, yay!) $2/$10 CVS brand CRT and $1 CVS sunscreen CRT (which doubled to $2 as I'd read elsewhere). The sunscreen itself was the 19 cent stuff from a week ago, so I essentially got $4 off the stuff I needed + free sunscreen. Not bad. But I forget which card I used so I won't be adding this to my running tally. (I'm behind on my other card's spreadsheet too and may never catch up...)

See you soon!

PS The free photobooks from a few weeks ago were a HIT with the recipients!

2 bags M&Ms dark chocolate - $4
2 bags Dove chocolate (1 milk, 1 dark) - $6
Used 2 $1.50/Dove coupons, 2 75 cents/M&Ms coupons (which I meant to use last week - so it's all good), $5.79 ECBs. Paid $2.35 (14 cents tax). Got back $5 ECBs.

My Other Card

Bought:
4 bottles of Pert Plus
2 bottles of Dawn dishwashing liquid (one regular, one botanicals)
1 CVS brand aspirin
2 sets of 3 Sharpie pens

Photobucket

Used 3 $2/Pert coupons and 1 $1/Pert coupon (all beeped, the cashier was like "oh" and pushed them all through), 2 50 cents/Dawn coupons, Free Aspirin CRT.

Paid $7.22 ($1 tax - ouch). Will send in receipt for $5 "School Supplies" rebate from Pert. (Note: After I bought the Sharpies, which cost $2.54 each on sale, I saw that the rebate form lets you get "up to" $5 off. I thought it had to be $5 or more. So you could get $3 or whatever and be fine. Wish I'd read that because I was going to get notebooks and Sharpies instead, but my loss is your gain.)

No ECBs used nor gained. I forgot to scan my card for coupons so they came out on my receipt ($ off Excedrin and two others).

My Other Card (Trip 2)

So I got home and went to pull the coupons out of my double paper and...one of my papers had NO coupons! (And extras of one other set of circulars.) I was really disappointed - so I went to the other CVS with my other card and got:

1 double paper - $2.50
1 Dawn dish detergent - 88 cents
2 bottles of Suave body wash (Cucumber Melon and Sweet Pea Violet) - $2.79 each
1 (on clearance!) lavender eye mask from Essence of Beauty

Used $3/2 bodywash CRT, BOGO Suave coupon (worth up to $2), $3.99 ECBs (realized I won't have a chance to roll these this month so I spent instead). Paid 95 cents (23 cents tax) (I did my math a bit wrong but in the end I decided that I got that nifty eye mask so it's all fine and good.) And this card's freebie coupon was aspirin, which I do not use at all, so that was disappointing but I will get it and donate it.

Photobucket

So not a great day - is Mercury retrograde or something? - but not terrible. Here's what I plan for the rest of the week:

Go back for four more Pert shampoos (I justified buying one more double paper by realizing I'd pay $2.50 and get coupons that would give me 2 free Pert in there), two more 30 cent Dawns, one $1 Dawn "Simple Pleasures" (it's on clearance for $2 and I got a $1 coupon for it in the mail) and $5 in "School Supplies" to fulfill the "Buy $5 in Pert products and $5 in school supplies and get $5 back" rebate form from the paper. I'll spend $1.58 for the Pert and that + the cost of the stamp will get me some free pens and stuff. Not too bad! (Would've been better if I'd JUST GOTTEN MY DOUBLE SET OF COUPONS IN THE FIRST PLACE THOUGH. Hrmph.)

ETA: I almost forgot - when I got my Pert rebate, they sent me a $1 coupon! Lower OOP - yay!

Day 27 - Trip 1

A better trip than I expected!

Transaction 1:
1 bottle of Powerade
1 tube of Colgate toothpaste
1 Infant Advil
2 bottles of Pert
1 pack of 30 CVS cough drops (for my husband - my OOP would've been much lower but oh well, he needed them and PS I was sad that the rack of clearance cough drops was empty)

Used: $1 off Powerade, $1 off Children's Advil, $1.50 off Colgate, 2 $2 off Pert, $5 ECBs. Paid $2.79 (63 cents tax, boo). Got back $5.79 for the Advil and $2 for the Colgate, plus my free CRT - CVS ibuprofen (eh).

Transaction 2:
Double paper
24 count CVS ibuprofen

Used $2 ECBs and free CRT, paid 50 cents.

Still have to go to the other CVS to get (hopefully) free Suave bodywash thanks to the CRT I still have kicking around. Plus I may grab some of the cheap dishwashing liquid as my stockpile is on the lower side. Oh and the candy deal was still on the receipt - hmmmm.

A Lull

I didn't get to complete the Olay idea I had before my coupons expired. The other store I go to didn't have ANY of the small bottles. And the deodorant that is on sale isn't the kind I like. And I decided I didn't need to spend $1 on face wipes even if I would get ECBs back.

And next week isn't that exciting to me. If I can get the coupons to print, I'll probably get two Colgate toothpastes and I have one more $1 Powerade coupon (I thought the sale was this week, but it's next week). I also have a coupon for the children's Advil so I'll probably get that. Oh and whatever the free thing is that I'm supposedly going to get as a CRT (check the ad).

I don't need more makeup, and I certainly I don't need more mascara (I now have several unopened tubes). I'm low on ECBs. Here's hoping for a great sale in the next few weeks.
